The Ocean at the End of the Lane

The National Theatre’s critically acclaimed The Ocean at the End of the Lane is a thrilling adventure of fantasy, myth and friendship. Returning to his childhood home, a man finds himself standing beside the pond of the old Sussex farmhouse where he used to play. He’s transported to his 12th birthday when his remarkable friend Lettie claimed it wasn’t a pond, but an ocean – a place where everything is possible… Plunged into a magical world, their survival depends on their ability to reckon with ancient forces that threaten to destroy everything around them.

Whether you are a Country Show fan, an avid foodie, dog lover, want lots for the kiddies to do, love living history or simply want a fun filled day out, this shows is for you. Enjoy small producers and handmade gifts with some wonderful shopping experiences. Watch and admire the Rural Crafters demonstrating all day and making some pretty amazing things, or why not enter your dog into their Dog Shows. There is also something for every music lover at the event.
Fi.Fest
8 July
Maidenhead

Fi.Fest is thrilled to announce the headline act for this year’s popular Berkshire festival is the legendary pop-rock band Scouting for Girls, who will be performing their biggest hits, including “She’s So Lovely”, “Elvis Ain’t Dead”, and “Heartbeat” alongside many others.
They will be joined by other fantastic acts from around the UK, including The Feeling, Daft, Barrioke, DJoneF, Third Lung and Boxteles. In addition to an incredible and unique line up of music, Fi.Fest is excited to announce the addition of a dedicated Kids Zone, making it the perfect event for families to enjoy together.

Summer gets off to a roaring start at Silverstone Museum as it launches its Summer of F1 exhibition showcasing incredible Formula 1 cars. The Summer of F1 event, which launches on July 8 and runs throughout the summer, celebrates everything linked to the iconic race with amazing world-famous racing cars, exclusive memorabilia and activities. F1 fanatics and museum visitors will be able to immerse themselves in this fantastic exhibition, which is a must see this summer.
Party in the Paddock
22 July
Newbury Racecourse

The highlight of the region’s social calendar, Newbury Racecourse’s Party In The Paddock provides a live experience unlike any other. With one ticket giving you access to seven thrilling races, a host of off-track entertainment for all the family, and a full headline performance from the nation’s biggest musical acts, there’s no better way to spend a warm summer’s afternoon and evening. Two icons of music are returning to the Racecourse this year, with Tom Jones set to delight fans on Saturday 22 July as part of Weatherbys Super Sprint Day, followed by favourite Olly Murs on Saturday 19 August during BetVictor Hungerford Day.
Hozier

Englefield House

Award-winning, multi-platinum singer and songwriter Hozier has been announced for a huge outdoor show within the spectacular grounds of Englefield House, Berkshire, as part of the Heritage Live summer concert series. As part of his return to the UK for the first time in four years, Hozier will perform in the heart of summer, supported by special guests Far From Saints and Victoria Canal. The show in the grounds of Englefield House comes after Hozier released his most recent EP, ‘Eat Your Young’ in honour of his birthday and St Patrick’s Day on 17 March, featuring all new material across three tracks.
Revolting Rhymes Opera

Roald Dahl Museum

Waterperry Opera Festival are bringing their much-celebrated musical rendition of Revolting Rhymes to the Roald Dahl Museum’s courtyard this summer. Through the celebrated words of Roald Dahl, delve into the world of fairy tales and adventure with an interactive, phizz-whizzing family-friendly show ideal for age 5 an up. This forms part of Bucks Open Weekend.
