Melba at the Savoy, Strand

Shining a spotlight on éclairs is Melba at the Savoy. From zesty fruits to passion fruit, classic chocolate to caramel – pastry chef Ludwig Hely explores his french roots to shape an exciting, artistic and assorted signature. The monochrome marbled floor and wooden interior is just as striking; a decor copied from the hotel itself, but this time featuring a glorious gourmet counter.


Pearl & Groove, Portobello Road

Pearl & Groove are the go-to for sweet treats with a twist. Appeasing cravings in the healthiest of ways, ground almonds are used instead of regular flour and every creation is gluten free, forming a nutritious but still wholesomely delectable pudding.


Nordic Bakery, Marylebone

Let your hygge loose at the Nordic Bakery. Hidden in the heart of Marylebone, this Scandinavian style coffee shop specialises in dark rye bread and cinnamon buns, whilst offering a safe sanctuary to indulge in the two. Also home to the #MyQuietMoment hashtag, they encourage customers to upload a majorly instagrammable snapshot.


Orée, Chelsea

Crafted breads, freshly baked viennoiserie and an excellent range of patisserie is on offer at this fancy Chelsea outpost. Fans of the wellness trend, Orée also cater for the health conscious and gluten-free among us – their croissants, scones and dainty cannelés filled with creamy custard are all baked daily on site.


Bea’s Cake Boutique, Bloomsbury

With its bright setting and lush pink leather seating, Bea’s Cake Boutique embodies everything to do with ladies who lunch. The menu sees coffees made by only the finest baristas and a winning chocolate truffle cake that tops all others – a combination that certifies a must-visit.


Cutter & Squidge, Soho

For those looking to curb their sweet tooth without an excessive amount of fat and sugar, Cutter & Squidge is the bakery keeping offensive content to a minimum. They’re also home to the Biskie – a unique blend of biscuit, cookie and cake. Not to be confused with a macaroon, whoopie pie, or even a sandwich – these treats are a moorish blend of crispy, chewy, soft and creamy cake.


Maison Kayser, Baker Street

Finally blessing the UK with his mastery, French baker Eric Kayser is set to open his first London outpost in January 2017. The new bakery, restaurant and patisserie will plant roots in Baker Street, where breads will be created of artisanal standard and Sourdoughs made from natural sources.


Ottolenghi, Spitalfields

Ottolenghi is the deli with an ever-changing dessert menu. From fruit meringue tarts to salted caramel cheesecakes, even lemon and polenta cake has got in on the action – it’s certainly a venue to tickle all taste buds.


Maitre Choux, South Kensington

Maitre Choux is the chic pâtisserie specialising in éclairs and choux pastry. For those not in the know, this light pastry dough contains a soft, hollow inside with a golden, crispy outer shell. They make for the perfect gift box and with Michelin-starred pastry chef Joakim Prat hand-crafting each creation, they’re guaranteed to satisfy even the most discerning of taste buds.
