International Women’s Day is on March 8th 2023. It recognises the achievements of women around the world and recognises gender inequality.
This year there’s a host of brilliant events happening in London, from supper clubs, to festivals. So get together with your favourite women and prepare to celebrate.

Wahaca founder Thomasina Meirs is joined by BBC Radio 4’s Leyla Kazim and The Great British Bake Off finalist Crystelle Pereia for a supper club to celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day. The trio will be cooking and hosting – serving a five course tasting menu. Plates include five hour grass-fed short rib with Tehuano sauce and toasted almonds; and orange and cardomom doughnuts with dulce de leche and chocolate tequila sauce. There is also a vegetarian menu. Tickets are £60 and include a welcome drink and a celebratory tequila. All profits from the evening will be donated to Practical Action, a charity focused on tackling gender equality and poverty in the developing world.

Headstrong: Women and Empowerment
Until 23 April | Centre for British Photography
One of the inaugural shows at the new British Centre of Photography, Headstrong: Women and Empowerment is dedicated to women artists and photographers based in the UK. The exhibition has been brought together with the help of Fast Forward, a research project that promotes women and non-binary people in photography. Playful and often surprising, it looks at women who are challenging the patriarchy, embracing diversities and living their everyday lives.
