The Liverpool doctor championing safe, natural-looking aesthetics

Dr Amy Law is an experienced doctor who qualified as a dentist from The University of Liverpool in 2016. Whilst progressing her career in dentistry, she realised her true passion lay in medical aesthetics – and she hasn’t looked back.

Fast forward to today, and she successfully heads up Dr Amy Law, her aesthetics clinic based on Liverpool’s prestigious Rodney Street, as well as being an advanced aesthetics trainer for some of the most renowned training academies in the north west.

“It might seem quite the career move switching from dentistry to aesthetics, but they’re actually both very similar. The best part of the job for both is seeing the patient’s delight when a treatment or procedure has results which just transforms their confidence – it was this feeling that convinced me that medical aesthetics would bring me joy every day,” Dr Amy says.

“Of course, my knowledge, experience and commitment to patient safety have been pillars in me building a successful aesthetics clinic and personal brand. I specialise in aesthetics that provide natural results that really highlight a patient’s beauty. It’s all about my patients feeling like the best version of themselves,” she explains.

Transforming the reputation of aesthetics

Sometimes aesthetics can get bad press, which is something Dr Amy is passionate about helping to change. “My ethos is to never over treat any of my patients,” she says. “I will always offer a variety of treatment options which I deem to be the most suitable following a thorough consultation.

“I have an ethical responsibility as a medical practitioner to always act in the patient’s best interests. I want to ensure any treatment is the most beneficial to their health, happiness and wellbeing,” Dr Amy continues.

At the heart of this is patients feeling safe, empowered and never rushed into a treatment. Every individual is unique and so every treatment needs to be tailored to them; this is where a patient-led approach, backed by medical expertise, comes into its own.

It is this passion to ensure safety that led Dr Amy to become a trainer and to co-found Infinity Aesthetic Training. The training academy provides practitioners with the skills and confidence to be the best they can be and commit themselves to continuous professional development.

Aside from her medical expertise and over seven years of aesthetics experience, Dr Amy is a member of the CMAC complications board to further improve patient safety within the industry.

“I have a genuine interest in each of my patients and can proudly say that many of them who came to me when I first opened in 2017 are still loyal patients and a great number of whom have become friends,” Amy concludes.
