Keep Skin Looking Happy Long-Haul

TAKE IT OFF

The best way to feel fresh when you land is to start the journey with minimal makeup. This will allow skin to breathe and offer a neutral base from which to apply your in-flight products. If you can bear it, stick to a swipe of mascara and some tinted lip balm

HYDRATION, HYDRATION, HYDRATION

Make this your long-haul flight mantra. Keep swigging that water throughout the journey – this will not only keep skin hydrated but will also help counteract the affects of jet lag. The worst thing you can do is to reach for the booze or coffee, as they will dry out your skin and aggravate your system.

PICK UP A SHEET MASK

Alongside water, it’s important that you also use hydrating products to keep your skin supple. A sheet mask is super-easy to pack and one of the best ways to give your skin that much-needed boost. Apply at the beginning of the flight and then top up with your favourite serum later on. We love Khiels’ Midnight Recovery Concentrate.

BEAUTY SLEEP

It might sound boring but getting your 40 winks is essential for a happy, refreshed complexion. It might be tricky (especially if you’re not in first class…) but there are ways to help create a more restful environment. Invest in a good quality eye mask (silk is best) and gel earplugs to block out annoying noises and light, and spray your pillow with lavender spray.

HAIR REFRESH

Many air hostesses swear by an intensive conditioner to prevent hair drying out. Smooth on pre-flight and twist into a top knot for healthy holiday hair. If this sounds a bit messy for your liking then try a dusting of powder-based dry shampoo. Focus on the roots to banish oiliness and boost texture and body.
