We meet the creative genius behind beautiful shoe brand Erin Adamson
Words Felicity Carter
The new shoe brand on the block. Erin Adamson is the brainchild of Parisian designer Geraldine Boublil. Although she spent many years honing her skills at French design powerhouses including Dior and Givenchy she decided to establish her own brand, Erin Adamson. As a result, her brand has become the exciting new thing in women’s shoewear.
We catch up with Geraldine to find out more about her brand and what’s in store this spring and summer season. How did your brand come about?I have always worked in the fashion business in the Luxury sector. Prior to starting my own brand I worked at Dior and Givenchy in the Shoes and Accessory Department. I loved dealing with shoes everyday. Why did you name your brand Erin Adamson?First and foremost my label takes its name from my two children, my daughter Erin and my son Adam.Is there an ideal customer for Erin Adamson? My ideal customer is a strong, confident and feminine woman. Regardless of anything else she primarily loves to travel, dress-up and she embraces life to the fullest. If you could dress anyone who would it be?If I had to dress a public figure. No doubt it would have to be Vogue editor Lauren Santo Domingo. I love her natural elegance and style.Tell us about your SS17 collectionThe Erin Adamson’s Spring 2017 collection uses the Mediterranean Coast for inspiration. First and foremost Sandy suedes, pearly nappa and textures of blue define the collection. Additionally prints that acknowledge traditional Azulejos tiles and the glamour of the 70s are included.
Moreover classic styles, such as the ‘Rose’, ‘Nara’ and ‘Efrat’ have evolved. Fresh new silhouettes add a new twist to the collection such as flat sandals, modern platforms and shiny buckles. What inspires you?Ultimately my travels are my biggest inspiration! I have recently travelled to India. Above all it was the people as well as the rich colours and textures of the country that blew me away. However art and architecture remain a constant inspiration for me.Do you have a life/work motto?By and large I would say my motto is ‘Don’t worry be happy’!erinadamson.com
