If there are any ‘silver linings’ to the horrors of the past year, the way restaurants have bravely adapted to the new normal deserves some congratulations. Clarke’s is one of those restaurants; now in its 35th year, it has opened its second shop in Notting Hill (on the corner of Portobello Road and Westbourne Grove) as well as entering the world of online retail.
Over the past few months, Clarke’s has spent time growing and improving their range of Bakery, Shop and Production Kitchen products, and these are now readily available for next-day delivery to customers 7 days a week, using the speedy and sustainable ecofleet delivery bicycles.
Clarke’s has also been able to continue cooking and serving from its wonderful Restaurant Kitchen, despite the numerous lockdowns of the past few months. Every day, from Tuesday to Saturday, they deliver a weekly changing selection of menus. Dishes are sourced, cooked and prepared by a talented team of chefs to provide their diners with a little taste of Clarke’s at home.
Clarke’s is well known for its luxurious Christmas, Thanksgiving and Valentine Hampers, assembled from homemade jams and marmalade, wines, biscuits, chocolates and other goodies from the Bakery and Production Kitchen.
They have now created a range of beautiful hampers available for delivery all year round, all at the click of a mouse. All of Clarke’s tried, tested and loved favourites from the last 35 years are in this luxury hamper. Whether it’s the famous dark chocolate truffles (hand rolled, hand dipped, since 1984), homemade granola (perfect with plain yoghurt and fresh or poached fruits) or Seville Orange marmalade, Sally and her customers could not recommend them highly enough.
Cheeses and Charcuterie Hamper
Cheeses from the team at Neal’s Yard Dairy have featured on the Clarke’s Restaurant menus and in their shops for over 30 years, and these form the basis of this wonderfully generous hamper. They are perfectly matched by wafer-thin oatmeal biscuits, a selection of artisan cured meats and beautiful wines chosen by Clarke’s own Sommelier.
