Auto Royale is reimagining what concours d’elegance can be..Marvel at magnificent motors at Auto Royale
Paul Mathers, founder of Auto Royale, has been working tirelessly to prepare an event that is set to challenge what you think you know about Concours d’Elegance.
Despite the obvious challenges, Auto Royale is set to be more dazzling than ever. From the 16-18th of July at Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire, the event promises to be a unique experience for car enthusiasts everywhere. Of similar events, Mathers says ‘Concours d’Elegance events have been around for many years, and many have fallen into step with a certain paradigm. With the exception of the cars on the field, which are always a joy for an enthusiast, the rest of the event runs the risk of being predictable and underwhelming. Auto Royale seeks to subvert people’s expectations’.
The rebel of car events, Auto Royale promises never to be dull or tiresome. Alongside the motors, the event will feature a concept and innovation lawn, showcasing the very latest designs and innovations, as well as a VIP lounge with a lunch menu to be served up by Jean-Christophe Novelli, the Parterre Terrace with long-stretching views of the Chiltern Hills, and finally, a sunset party that invites guests to enjoy the five star hospitality on offer.
The event is aimed at anyone with a love of cars, history, storytelling, art and design. Mathers describes the event as ‘(somewhere) you can meet your like-minded friends and celebrate the path back to normality, or meet new friends and connections through a mutual love of motoring’.
The cars, you ask? They will range from vintage to contemporary, with Mathers saying ‘over 100 cars will compete for Best in show, and many of them are winners from other events. Some are one-offs, some are very low production numbers, and some have been famous racers or owned by celebrities. Some of these cars have never even been seen in the UK, and some are worth tens of millions of pounds. The common factor that unites them is that they all possess a special story – and Auto Royale is where they get to tell that story’. See you there.
