Designed by EOOS, Carl Hansen & Søn’s Embrace Outdoor Lounge Series is characterised by balancing soft upholstery and stringent wood perfectly. The modular sofa encourages outdoor relaxation with its comfortable upholstery and laid-back look, and, at the same time, it has a tight and contemporary idiom with its woven arm- and backrests and teak frame. The lounge table has a clear kinship to the existing tables of the Embrace Series with its distinct and floating expression.
EOOS has been part of Carl Hansen & Søn’s collection for nearly 10 years, growing the Embrace Series into an extensive collection of both dining and lounge furniture for indoors and outdoors. The Embrace Series bridges EOOS’ contemporary design idiom with Carl Hansen & Søn’s craftsmanship expertise and presents a modern take on wooden furniture.
EOOS is a design studio based in Vienna consisting of Martin Bergmann, Gernot Bohmann and Harald Gründl. The trio views design as a poetic discipline, believing that end results should be able to accommodate changing needs and desires, and approach complex furniture, product, and shop design challenges by examining past roots in a contemporary context. EOOS has published books on design, holds over 15 technical patents, and has won over 130 international awards, including a red dot award, a Compasso d’Oro, the German Design Award, an iF Award and a Wallpaper* Design Award.
