The Chiltern Made Craft Fair Makes Its Debut In Chesham

Contents

We take a closer look at the launch of The Chiltern Made Craft Fair, which comes to The Elgiva in Chesham on 23 October

The Chiltern Made Craft Fair, in association with Elgiva Artisans, is thrilled to announce its first ever craft fair on 23 October. The event will see Chesham’s The Elgiva play host to an incredible array of stalls, packed with everything from keepsakes, art, decorative items and perfect presents, all designed and made by talented local creatives and artists.

The beautiful and unique handmade products for sale will include original art, ceramics, innovative textiles, glasswork, leatherwork, handmade soaps and candles, millinery, local produce and more. With a certain festive season just around the corner this will be the perfect opportunity to start your Christmas shopping (although don’t forget to treat yourself, too!).

This new venture came about after the Chiltern Made fair planned for last November had to be cancelled with just a couple of weeks to go due to the pandemic. Not to be beaten, organisers Liz, Laura and Alex have since collaborated with The Elgiva, reshaping the event to be bigger and feature even more local high-quality products.

Organiser Liz says: “For many of our talented makers this will be the first selling event they have attended since spring last year. They are very keen to be back in an environment where they can speak to visitors and really show off their creations. Having the event inside The Elgiva is perfect, bringing it right to the heart of Chesham.”

Theatre manager, David Cooper, adds: “The Elgiva is delighted to play host to this fantastic range of local talent; community runs through the veins of the theatre, and we are thrilled to spotlight so many amazing local makers. I already have my eye on several things, including unique socks, delicious honey and some very clever iPad art works.”

This showcase of local artisans and talent will be open to the public on 23 October from 10am to 4pm. The adult entry charge of £2 includes automatic entry into the raffle to win one of the unique items donated by each stallholder. Tickets are available on the door on the day.
