COCKTAILS IN THE CITY
Cocktails in the City returns for a three-day celebration of London’s unrivalled drinks scene. This weekend-long extravaganza showcases the world’s most inventive and original cocktail bars with a village of pop-up bars for guests to explore, each with their own unique aesthetic, tastings, workshops, games and of course, a plethora of talented mixologists creating out-of-this-world cocktails.
MARE STREET MARKET
A consortium of East London’s most accomplished artisans and producers have joined forces to launch a market with a difference in the heart of Hackney. Nestled between Broadway Market and Netil House, Mare Street Market is an expertly curated space to eat, drink, shop and play. From the artisan coffee shop and florist to the podcast studio and locally sourced deli and off-licence; it’s both a complete experience and a feast for the senses.
WICKED
Now in its 12th year, Wicked recently became the 15th longest running show in West End theatre history. The story imagines a beguiling backstory to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters and reveals the decisions and events that shape the destinies of two unlikely University friends on their journey to becoming Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West. Catch it this weekend for an unforgettable trip down the yellow brick road.
CIRCUSFEST
In the 250th anniversary of the invention of modern circus, the Roundhouse’s CircusFest 2018 focuses on the future of the art with everything from the daring to the diverse, the punky to the poetic, and the subversive to the socially aware. Expect a jam-packed schedule of shows and film projects from the front-running artists on the circus scene.
VEGAN COOKERY CLASSES AT BOROUGH MARKET
Whether you’re vegan, plant-based or looking to kick it up a notch in the kitchen, you’ll love award-winning Chef Katherine Frelon’s series of monthly cookery courses at The Cookhouse in London’s Borough Market. Here, she’ll show her students how the best ingredients can be found in your local fresh food market no matter what your personal preferences, tastes or dietary requirements. The series will begin with a vegan cookery course, showcasing how cooking a plant-based diet can be just as versatile and interesting as cooking with meat. The one day Vegan courses will be held on Friday 6th April & Saturday 7th April 2018 between 9:30am and 4:30pm and tickets cost just £95.
DEPTFORD BITES LIVE
Critic, author and broadcaster Grace Dent has joined forces with food-event guru Kate McKenzie to present Deptford Bites Live this Saturday 7 April. Over the past twelve months, Deptford, SE8 has been noted as a food hotspot and a haven for cooks, makers and entrepreneurs, and this one-time weekend special celebrates just that. Guests can expect a series of talks curated and hosted by Grace, alongside some of the neighbourhood’s finest eateries.

DALLOWAY TERRACE’S SPRING TRANSFORMATION
Dalloway Terrace has been transformed once again this spring with a whimsical design inspired by the bee. The unmissable terrace has been reimagined by master florist Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart and is adorned with an abundance of wild English flowers to highlight the importance of the bee within the ecosystem. A new Honey Bee themed afternoon tea is available alongside a new seasonal menu bursting with fresh flavours.
CANOPY MARKET
This weekend sees the arrival of a brand new weekly market to London’s foodie scene. Canopy Market will revive a historic market site and play host to independent food producers, artists and designers every Friday to Sunday, with live music each Friday evening. The line-up includes the recently launched Love Farina, who hand-make fresh pasta live on-site using authentic, organic ingredients, and Luminary Bakery, a bakery and social enterprise based in East London providing training, community and employment opportunities for disadvantaged women.
DOUGHNUT TIME’S WESTFIELD POP-UP
This week saw the latest venture from Doughnut Time who popped up in Westfield with their trusted van, Betty. With the help of this mint green mobile vehicle, the all-time-favourite sweet treat provider will be brightening up people’s days throughout spring with their delicious doughnuts. Catch them there this Saturday between 12-1pm where they’ll be giving out free ones to lucky passers-by.
