Seven Dials London has had a floral makeover to celebrate the end of lockdown…
By Layla Turner
Head down to Seven Dials this weekend to marvel at the seven floral installations that have been unveiled to celebrate the end of lockdown and further easing of restrictions. The project, in collaboration with Urban Growth and The Young Camden Association, will feature Instagram-worthy displays and a piano that aims to commemorate the live music that was sorely missed throughout lockdown.
The Young Camden Foundation is a leader in supporting its members by working with a range of organisations to develop new and unique approaches to supporting the younger generation, granting access to different volunteer opportunities to broaden their skillset. than 1,400 local young people were directly impacted by Young Camden Foundation’s grant giving programmes during the summer of 2020, which helped to address longstanding and complex issues, such as digital poverty, youth safety and mental health – all of which were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Guests are invited to marvel at the displays, created with the help from floral design experts. The installation will feature a plush vintage sofa alongside a series of flowerpot kegs that have been designed to celebrate the reopening of pubs in the area. Outside of the Raddison Blu Edwardian Mercer lies a suitcase filled with an abundance of flowers, to celebrate the travels and adventures that we will soon embark once again, whilst three theatre seats stand proudly outside of the Cambridge Theatre to celebrate the reopening of theatres and the arts industry.
The perfect destination for ‘Instagram-lovers’, the exhibition seeks to compliment the beauty of the Seven Dials area – from the picturesque cobblestone streets to the pre-existing floral destinations already in place. Guests can also enjoy the abundance of new shops and brands that Seven Dials have welcomed to the area, including runner up of the Start Up With Seven Dials Competition Olive Jennings, as well as the Experimental Perfume Club.
