Your Guide to the Hertfordshire County Show 2025

The Hertfordshire County Show returns on 24-25 May, promising a spectacular weekend filled with entertainment, countryside activities, and family fun. This year’s show welcomes back the incredible Ben Atkinson’s Action Horses, delivering breathtaking performances in the Jubilee Ring. Visitors can also look forward to the Dinky Derby, the Foxtrotting Forklifts (yes, you read that right!), as well as plenty more exciting attractions.

Across the showground, visitors can immerse themselves in live demonstrations and displays celebrating the best of the Hertfordshire countryside. In the Farming & Countryside Area, families can get hands-on with a variety of engaging activities. Families can make their own Hertfordshire pizza using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, meet beekeepers and learn about honey production, watch the entertaining Sheep Show, and cheer on the pig racing. There are also plenty of opportunities to get up close with farm animals and discover more about the region’s rich agricultural heritage. Traditional countryside crafts such as basket weaving and blacksmithing will be on display, offering visitors a chance to appreciate these age-old skills. The countryside arena will also host spectacular falconry displays, impressive sheepdog demonstrations, and a fascinating showcase of vintage machinery in action.

New Attractions for 2025

This year, the show is introducing exciting brand-new attractions. The Dog Zone is a must-visit for dog lovers, featuring ‘have-a-go’ activities like flyball, a fun dog show, and a special performance from the incredible Super Spaniels Show with TV personality Chloe Fuller and her talented dogs. Another exciting addition is the Hobby Horse Arena, where visitors can borrow a riding school hobby horse and try their hand at hobby horse dressage, showjumping, or simply gallop around and have fun.

Local Flavours, Music & Shopping

Back by popular demand, the Food Theatre is the perfect place to pick up new culinary skills, watch live cooking demonstrations, and sample delicious recipes from expert chefs. The Village Green offers a relaxing space to enjoy a picnic while listening to live music, and children can enjoy riding on a selection of fun bikes. The shopping experience is also not to be missed, with a wide variety of trade stands, the ‘Made in Herts’ section showcasing local artisan products, and an array of delicious offerings in the Food Court. The show remains a proud celebration of British farming and equestrian excellence.

Visitors can watch impressive livestock cattle and sheep classes, and the Grand Parade in the Jubilee Ring. The Equestrian Showing classes feature prestigious qualifiers, while showjumping competitions offer thrilling displays of skill and precision.
