Explore the planet’s habitats, from sprawling urban metropolises to the deep polar seas, and meet the creatures that rely on these places. Come face to face with species at risk of extinction as well as those we’ve brought back from the brink. See first-hand how human activities, both good and bad, are shaping the natural world we rely on.

This month the de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra (dHPO) will be performing alongside award-winning children’s illustrator and author James Mayhew for a wonderful Christmas concert for the whole family – Sounds of the Sea. Hosted by UH Arts + Culture, the Orchestra will be playing fabulous sea-themed favourites by Mendelssohn, Debussy, Wagner and Rimsky-Korsakov, while Mayhew paints his illustrations live on stage and projected onto a big screen for the audience to enjoy.

Tom Fletcher’s interactive adventures for big imaginations are leaping from page to stage, as the beloved ‘Who’s in Your Book?’ series makes its debut as a brand-new musical show. A group of performers are preparing to start their show, but quickly discover they are not alone on stage. Little Monster wants to be part of the fun too! With an invitation to his friends, Dragon, Alien and Unicorn to join him, you can expect comedy and chaos as they help to create a magical show, learning about the joy of books and friendship along the way.

Herts Winter Wonderland Christmas Market

25-26 November

The fun filled Christmas market event returns to Tewinbury Farm. Expect over 50+ small, local businesses all under one roof and endless free fun for children to enjoy. There will be a liver singer, children’s crafts, gingerbread decorating, face painting, and a chance to meet Santa and his elves.


Hertford Castle Christmas Market

Kick off the festive season with Hertford Castle’s annual Christmas Market. Set within the beautiful grounds of Hertford Castle the event boasts an array of Christmas market stalls offering homeware, crafts, jewellery, and much more. Perfect for those who like to shop early and local for Christmas. In addition, there will be fairground rides and live entertainment to enjoy, and food and drink stands providing seasonal treats.
