Clean Eating Alice X Gherkin: Saints vs. Sinners Menus
Start 2017 off on a clean-eating slate with Instagram starlet, Clean Eating Alice and Gherkin Head Chef, Barry Tonks. The unlikely pair have created a Saints and Sinners menu, offering diners a combination of healthy and indulgent dishes – a concoction of fresh, healthy recipes on one side with a choice of naughty dishes thrown in for those that haven’t quite given up their festive indulgence. Saintly Suppers with Alice feature dishes such as roasted aubergine nuzzled in feta and tahini and bejewelled with pomegranates, while the Dark Side with Barry includes a slow braised ox-cheek, butter roasted halibut and truffle risotto.

D&D London Blank Canvas Campaign
This January luxury restaurant group, D&D London is bringing a splash of colour into the winter period with a showcase of incredible art throughout its restaurants. As part of the Blank Canvas campaign, Coq d’Argent is offering a bespoke cocktail list, inspired by ‘The School of Paris,’ diners at German Gymnasium will gaze upon fine works from The House of Illustration whilst at Plateau view French goddess Brigitte Bardot, immortalised in a selection of images from the Simon Claridge Diamond Dust Collection.
Seedlip Takeover at Harvey Nichols
Beat the post-festive blues with a Seedlip detox at Harvey Nichols. Available for one month only, the exclusive Fifth Floor Terrace will be transformed into an immersive Seedlip space, complete with copper piping, garden design features and contemporary foliage. The Seedlip Terrace will offer health conscious cocktail lovers and Dry January-goers a warm and cosy environment to unwind. Chai Ki’s Recovery Brunch
For those seeking a fresh start to the New Year and respite after an indulgent Christmas, Chai Ki have introduced a soul food brunch this January. Created by Chai Ki founder, Rohit Chugh, Modern Indian dishes will embrace pick-me-up ingredients and warming spices to combat the Winter chill and leave guests rejuvenated. Brunch highlights include Curry Leaf Turmeric Scrambled Eggs with vitamin packed kadi patta; and the Full Nashta, an Eastern take on the Full English, with Aloo Tikki Hash and Masala Beans, made with Rohit’s Mum’s secret spice blend. For the first time, Yamagoya will bring the flavour of Ogata’s signature ramen to the capital via a six-month residency at Shuang Shuang. The menu will include the celebrated ‘Yamagoya’ ramen; handmade noodles immersed in a smoky tonkotsu broth, garnished with Chashu pork belly, Kikurake mushroom, nori and marinated Burford Brown egg. Diners will also be able to choose from a host of toppings, including glazed chashu of pork, seared chicken and tofu; sharp, crunchy kimchi; umami nori sheets and a pickled mustard Takana.
Hakkasan’s Celebration of the Year of the Rooster
This Chinese New Year, Hakkasan are celebrating the Year of the Rooster with a limited edition menu, exclusive cocktail and desserts. During this auspicious time, guests will be able to share their hopes for the coming year by writing wishes on beautiful red and gold ribbons, and invited to hang them on the iconic Hakkasan lattice cages. The ribbons featuring a bespoke rooster design by London illustrator Kam Tang and limited edition menu will be available to guests from 13th January to 11th February.
The Southbank Centre’s yearlong programme dedicated to Nordic art and culture opens this weekend. Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in Nordic culture, from much-loved favourites – Moomins; Lego; Hygge and various other exciting and intriguing art, literature and music events. This weekend, view an installation of traditional Sami shawl-making, climb into the eccentric world of Moominland or catch one of the short film screenings by one of the 19 contemporary visual artists from across the Nordic region.
