The Real Housewives of Cheshire Star’s New Mission

Rachel Lugo, best known for her glamorous appearances on The Real Housewives of Cheshire, is embracing a new role that showcases a different side of her personality. In a recent interview, she revealed her latest mission: supporting the Pink Ribbon Foundation and raising awareness for breast cancer.

Gone are the glitzy dresses and high heels we’re accustomed to seeing on TV. Instead, Rachel greets us in comfortable, everyday wear that reflects her active lifestyle. “Many people, when they watch me on TV, will see that I’m always very glammed up. In reality, I’m with the horses and live quite an active lifestyle,” she explains with a laugh.

A Personal Connection to the Cause

Rachel’s involvement with the Pink Ribbon Foundation stems from a deeply personal experience. Her mother and grandmother both passed away from breast cancer, leaving an indelible mark on her life. This family history has made Rachel proactive about her own health. She and her twin sister have undergone BRCA gene testing, and Rachel regularly attends breast screenings at Wythenshawe’s family history clinic.

“It’s just something that’s really close to my heart because I don’t want my children to lose me,” Rachel shares, her voice filled with emotion.

The ‘We Fight Together’ Collection

In collaboration with the Pink Ribbon Foundation, Rachel has created a capsule collection aptly named ‘We Fight Together’. The collection includes T-shirts and hoodies, designed to be both comfortable and meaningful. “We want everybody to proudly wear these T-shirts and hoodies, which will, in turn, support all the charities that the Pink Ribbon Foundation supports,” Rachel explains enthusiastically.

What sets this collection apart is its commitment to sustainability. Produced in partnership with Teemill, the world’s first open-access circular supply chain, each item is made from organic cotton using renewable energy. The products are designed to be recyclable, keeping materials out of landfills and contributing to a more sustainable fashion industry.

Beyond Reality TV

While Rachel acknowledges the challenges of being in the public eye, including the media coverage of her divorce, she hopes viewers see beyond the drama of reality TV. “I hope viewers can see that I’m just a regular, down-to-earth person who values hard work and understands the importance of money,” she says. Her involvement with the Pink Ribbon Foundation is a testament to her desire to use her platform for good.

Future Ventures

Rachel’s entrepreneurial spirit extends beyond her charity work. She speaks excitedly about Lugo Loves, her online interior company, and a new venture in Liverpool called Beyond Beautiful Wellness Clinic. The clinic offers medical aesthetics and various wellness services, with plans to expand into Cheshire. Additionally, Rachel keeps busy with content creation for social media, working with numerous brands.

Staying Rooted in Cheshire

Despite her growing success and numerous ventures, Rachel remains committed to her roots. “There’s no reason for me to look at moving away from Cheshire,” she affirms, highlighting her love for the area that has been her home throughout her journey from reality TV star to breast cancer awareness champion.

As our interview concludes, it’s clear that Rachel Lugo is much more than her on-screen persona. She’s a mother, an entrepreneur, and an advocate, using her platform to make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer.
