It can be hard to stay motivated to workout when you’re at home – the allure of Netflix and the sofa is all too tempting – but being active is hugely important to our mental and physical health. That’s where these fitness programmes come in; many gyms and personal trainers have taken to the digital realm to provide us with effective workouts, whether it’s via an Instagram Live, YouTube videos or content posted on their websites. We’ve rounded up the best home workouts led by top trainers so you can stay fit and healthy while working from home or not going to the gym.
The Best Home Workouts to Do Online
Core Collective
Bringing fun and effective workouts to your living room, Core Collective is launching its new on-demand fitness video service, CCTV, on 23 March. Their expert trainers will lead you in classes varying from five to 45 minutes long and in six different categories: Sweat, Train, Strength, Pilates, Yoga and Extras. The service will be available as a pay-as-you-go monthly subscription of £12.99 or at a discounted rate of £9.99 a month if bought as an annual subscription.
Pilates PT
The Pilates PT Method Online is a holistic 8-week plan to work your body and mind. Featuring pilates and HIIT lessons as well as informative articles on sleep and nutrition, you will be assigned six workout videos to complete each week, personalised to you depending on your body type, fitness level, and goals. Plus, each member will have access to the Headspace app and receive a starter pack containing things to help you along the way such as inspiring books and resistance bands. Their six-month plan is £83 a month, but they are offering a 7-day free trial.
Digme
Digme has temporarily closed the doors of its London studios. But the workouts will go on – Digme have launched digital workouts on their social channels led by head of yoga, Sarah Grogan, and lead trainer of HIIT Matrix Proposition, Ben Davie. Expect HIIT, functional training and yoga workouts with no equipment needed. Plus, it’s entirely free to all.
Psycle
Psycle are one of London’s hottest gyms, attracting a super cool crowd to their energetic classes and epic smoothie bar. They’ve now launched Psycle at Home, professional video versions of their classes for you to follow along at home. Choose unlimited Ride, Strength, Barre and Yoga classes for £35 a month and Psycle’s expert and inspirational team will guide you every step of the way to getting fitter and healthier during lockdown.
P.volve
Trainer to the stars Stephen Pasterino is the brains behind P.volve, a super-effective workout method designed to tone the body by activating the hard-to-reach muscles like the inner thigh, lower underarm and deep core. For a monthly payment, you receive a number of credits and can drop in to hundreds of gyms across the city. But with so many studios temporarily closing or reducing their class sizes, now is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of Classpass’ digital workouts. Available to stream via the app, the online workouts don’t use up any of your credits and range from kickboxing and full body HIIT to yoga and barre. Classpass are also giving members the option of ‘pausing’ their accounts so they aren’t billed while not attending sessions.
