Introducing the high street hero you need in your summer holiday wardrobe:Â why Next’s peasant blouse should be the one thing you buy this week
Words Joy Montgomery
Drop everything. High street giant Next have delivered a lust-worthy blouse for your summer wardrobe. Coming in vibrant red and sun-faded blue, this embroidered blouse instantly transports us to sunnier climes. Not only that, it’s also a serious doppelgänger for cult designer brand Vita Kin.
Next might not be the first place that springs to mind when looking for trend-led styles, yet recently it has been releasing some seriously cool looks. From these utilitarian khaki trousers to a pair of cute pompom slippers, the store just keeps knocking them out the park.
The embroidered blouse caught our eye when worn by fashion blogger Alexandra Stedman – AKA The Frugality – who styled hers with high-waisted mom jeans and chunky sandals. Since then we can’t think of anything else.
With its flattering balloon sleeves and loose fit, this will be the perfect cover-up for beach to bar chic. Simply pair with a SS17 straw bag, oversized hoops, denim cut offs and sun-kissed skin. The beauty of this blouse is that it’ll keep working long after you return home. Style it for the city with culottes and heeled sandals, or for a more low-key look try tucking it into an a-line denim midi and throwing on a pair of sliders.
The question is, do you go for blue or red? At £40 a pop, we’ll have one of each please…
