Naming my business after my grandmothers was a heartfelt decision deeply rooted in love and admiration. I had the privilege of growing up with two remarkable women who left an indelible mark on my life. On the other hand, my paternal grandmother was a captivating character, brimming with a great sense of humour and an endless supply of enthralling stories. Hours would pass as I sat enthralled by her tales, a testament to her charm and vivacity.
Naming my business after these exceptional women felt instinctively right, a way to honour their legacies and embody the qualities that they exemplified. Edith and Lou are not just names; they are representations of the values of love, warmth, creativity, and humour that my grandmothers embodied. Among these treasures are vintage pots from Nepal, 100% European flax linen from Lithuania, ceramics from Indonesia and India, and handwoven Ikat cushions from Uzbekistan – each designed to bring timeless beauty and comfort into our homes.
Many of the items are handcrafted and many are vintage. I love the fact that my items are not perfect. Instead, they bear the hallmark of history, hard work and skilled craftsmanship, making each piece unique and more beautiful.
