Summer has finally arrived so what better way to fight off the heat than with a few frozen treats? Here we’ve rounded-up the best chilled delicacies available now across the capital

Frozen Afternoon Tea, Bluebird Café
One of the newest brands on the block and already a favourite, Halo Top, is collaborating with Bluebird Café in White City to put an icy twist on Britain’s favourite pasttime, afternoon tea. Combining Halo Top’s standout flavours with classic cakes and confections, the frozen afternoon tea it is a first of its kind in the UK and will be available until the end of July to coincide with National Ice Cream Month.
Soft Serve Doughnuts, Doughnut Time
Across its various London outposts, Doughnut Time will be offering an array of exciting confectionary-filled ice cream sandwiches. The menu is made up of three soft serve sandwiches: vanilla with hundreds and thousands, salted caramel with swirled fudge and pretzels and a mango frozen yoghurt with crushed meringue and drizzled passionfruit coulis. Delicious.
Flaming Baked Alaska, Simpson’s In The Strand
Renowned for serving up the best of British cuisine, Simpson’s in the Strand has put a modern spin on a beloved dessert with its Flaming Baked Alaska. This perfect pudding will set your taste buds alight, combining Chestnut & Baileys ice cream and fresh lingonberries wrapped in warm plumes of meringue.
Gelato, Venchi
Move over chocolate and strawberry, this summer Venchi, maker of authentic Italian gelato, is adding new and exciting flavours to their already extensive collection. Available at all five stores across London, delicious new products include a tropical lychee sorbet, a tangerine and passionfruit sorbet and Piedmont plum.
Iced Macaron Ice Cream and Sorbet, Ladurée
Stave off the heat with a cool treat from Ladurée. The French restaurant, tea room and macaron specialists have created a collection of 12 delicious ice creams and sorbets limited to the United Kingdom. With flavours such as rose of Damascus and vanilla bourbon, you’ll want to try them all.
Sundaes, Bombay Bustle
The Indian restaurant by Samyukta Nair on Maddox Street Mayfair serves a host of ice cream sundaes including Royal Falooda Sundae Chocolate Fudge Sundae as well as kulfis, the traditional Indian ice-cream, flavoured rose, saffron and rabbi.
Strawberry and Cream Loaf, Cutter & Squidge
These creamy, dreamy strawberries and cream loaves are perfect for a summer picnic. The vegan-friendly summer delight comprises a light vanilla sponge with hand-piped diary-free vanilla buttercream, drizzled with sweet, tangy strawberry jam, a sprinkle of strawberry pieces and garnished with a fresh strawberry half. While not frozen themselves, on a hot summers day these goodies are best enjoyed with a side of something chilled.
Froyo, Snog
Made using non-fat organic yoghurt and skimmed milk, this guilt-free, cool treat is naturally high in calcium and protein. With everything from strawberries and crunchy granola to gluten free chocolate fudge brownies, chewy mochi and chocolate of every kind, you can make your Snog as healthy or as indulgent as you fancy.
Traditional Korean Bingsu, Jinjuu
In time for summer, Jinjuu Soho have announced the addition of two new Bingsu flavours to their desert menu. The popular Korean summer desert made with shaved ice and a variety of sweet toppings is now available in rhubarb and atrawberry as well as honey butter French toast. The surprisingly light, must-try desert can be served as a gluten free option.
