The Kings Road gallery Anthropologie will play host to the new Hadeda capsule collection
By Layla Turner
Lifestyle brand Hadeda (pronounced Haa-Dee-Dah) has collaborated with talented artisans from across Africa to showcase a range of ceramic, art, furniture and fashion pieces that look like something straight off a Pinterest board (swoon). Anthropologie’s Kings Road location will be hosting a pop up previewing the collection, opening Thursday the 13th of May until Sunday the 23rd of May.
A focus on sustainability
Hadeda was founded by Kate Kindersley, who grew up between the UK and Africa. The company focuses on sustainability, ensuring that the material and energy used to create their products ‘treads as lightly as possible on the planet’.
Anthropologie X Hadeda: The Capsule Collection
Anthropologie, which now operates at over 200 stores world wide, was founded in 1992 by chairman and president Dick Hayne. Its first London store was opened in 2009, and the brand has since opened another three stores in the capital, with locations in Marylebone and Regent Street. As it stands, there are 18 stores in the UK and six in Europe. The brand has established itself as the leading destination for those seeking a ‘curated mix of clothing, accessories, gifts and home decor to reflect their personal style’.
The pop up will feature the capsule collection alongside some one off, collectable pieces created by founder Kate.
“From passed-down techniques to modern design, there are so many talented designers in Africa. I want to share the magic, wonder, tradition and excitement of discovering these exceptional makers with others”
