Lunch with a View in London: Our Top Picks
Seabird
Seabird doesn’t only boast an incredible skyline view, but they also have London’s biggest oyster list. The seafood restaurant is at the top of the Hoxton hotel, Southwark, and has a gorgeous outdoor terrace complete with plenty of plants and trendy rattan furniture. The menu is mostly Spanish-inspired tapas as well as grilled mains like monkfish and lobster. Lunch here is like a taste of the Mediterranean coast.
Deli Cat & Sons
For a more casual spread, head to Deli Cat & Sons where a view of the Millennium and Southwark Bridges will accompany your lunch. The menu includes sharing boards of charcuterie and mezzeh, plus salads, sandwiches and bakery items. If you’re after more of a liquid lunch, they have a range of inventive cocktails like Green Glitter, which combines tequila, cucumber shrub, chillies and sugar.
The Nest
This rooftop bar with 360 degree views of the city is at the top of Treehouse Hotel, just off Oxford Street. With an all-day menu of snacks, sandwiches, salads and large plates, relax in the foliage-filled lounge or outside on the wraparound terrace while you eat lunch. There’s also Madera, Treehouse’s Mexican restaurant set in an urban rooftop jungle, which is open for brunch and dinner.
Aqua Kyoto
This high-end restaurant is open for lunch on Thursdays and Fridays in September, but you can visit for dinner every evening. With a beautiful and romantic terrace overlooking London’s rooftops, the lunch menu is full of exquisite Japanese dishes. Choose from a selection of bento boxes, or a set menu where you can get a miso soup, maki and main for £19.50.
14 Hills
Located on the 14th floor of a Fenchurch Street skyscraper, 14 Hills is a glamorous restaurant with a view of the City. Serving British food with a classic French twist, the indulgent a la carte menu features dishes such as wild seabass fillet with pomme mousseline in a vermouth sauce and butternut squash and hazelnut risotto.
