There’s a rumble in Ruaha, Tanzania’s second largest national park of heart-stopping landscapes and home to over 10% of the world’s lion population. A place for serious big cat action calls for some serious accommodation to match. Cue two new gems from Asilia Africa; Jabali Private House and Jabali Ridge. First up is Jabali Ridge, opening in September 2017 as the most stylish of safari camps. The project takes inspiration from the inspiring Ruaha landscape; baobabs, palms and rippling hills. The result is a stylish haven of sultry, earthy colours, open spaces and clean lines. It boasts a sun-soaked infinity pool and two enormous viewing decks that overlook the Mwagusi Sand River.

Jabali Private House is southern Tanzania’s first private house on the safari circuit. Built around three magnificent baobab trees, the house is available only for exclusive bookings. Sleeping up to six, the house offers a completely unrivalled experience for families or small groups of friends.

Set within Barbados’ west coast, adults-only Treasure Beach is the latest luxurious hotel hotspot to have on your radar this year. Open from November following a significant refurbishment, the boutique property will encompass 79 suites, elegantly adorned with Caribbean décor. With an artistic and culinary focus, the hotel will offer a chic home-away-from-home vibe, with added luxuries such as white sandy beach and outdoor pool.



Hodges Bay Resort and Spa, a new luxury hotel by Elegant Hotels opens this December on the beautiful north shores of Antigua. The hotel promises a new spa offering, with five therapy rooms as well as a state-of-the-art Swiss technology hydro-pool. Book your stay in one of 122 guestrooms, an oceanfront town-home, villa, executive suite or penthouse. There is also a range of indoor and outdoor fitness classes and an ocean side infinity swim-up bar to blow off some serious steam.



Opening May next year, Zuri Zanzibar is a beautiful design-led beachfront eco resort with 55 bungalows, villas and suites. It sits in Kendwa, Zanzibar on the staggeringly beautiful northern west shores of Unguja. The Jestico+Whiles-designed resort will be  nestled on a powder white beach with all rooms boasting views of the azure Indian Ocean. Hotel facilities include an infinity pool, a yoga and wellness sanctuary, five stylish drinking and dining outlets and a peaceful spice garden. Expect to feel totally refreshed from the minute you cross the threshold.



Set on a 16-acre pristine oceanfront area of Natai beach, Baba Beach Club is set to take Phuket by storm this October. For the perfect country escape, Lygon Arms, the luxury coaching inn based in the heart of the Cotswolds, is re-opening on 18th September. More of an expansion than strictly a new opening but an exceptional one at that. Relax in Lapland’s most luxurious lodge in their new Northern Lights viewing rooms.
