What’s new?
Arriving at the luxury boutique hotel Flemings Mayfair, Ormer is the latest opening from Shaun Rankin – a chef with an impressive CV. His St Helier restaurant (also called Ormer) has a Michelin star – testament to Rankin’s menu of bounty Jersey and British fare, cooked to perfection.

What’s cooking?
You cannot miss the sweet Jersey lobster ravioli in a rich crab and tomato bisque with refreshing shallot salad – one of Shaun’s best known signature dishes. Highlight mains include: Dover sole with smoked salmon, potato and leek risotto, served with crisp quail’s eggs; secreto of Iberico pork with charred calamari, chorizo chutney and puréed Asian pear and roasted grouse with juicy blackberries, barbecued celeriac and baked sweet apples.

Save room for
The dark chocolate brownie with sticky popcorn, salted caramel sauce and milk ice cream or the baked Alaska to share – both are impossible to resist.

The drinks
Ormer Mayfair’s award-winning sommelier Andreas Rosendal has previously curated the wine lists in some of the country’s finest restaurants including Brasserie Chavot, Restaurant Sat Bains and The Greenhouse so you can be sure that each plate at Ormer Mayfair is perfectly paired with impeccable wines. We recommend a glass of 2009 Classic Cuvée from English estate Nyetimber.

The quintessentially British, 1930’s-inspired space designed by Tony Filmer, also responsible for refreshing Flemings’ 129 guest rooms and suites, is awash with understated glamour and artistry. Exuding subtle sophistication, the dining space boasts oak wood panelling, geometrical, monochrome marble floors, forest green velvet banquettes threaded with gold and British racing green distressed leather chairs.
