Beauty fanatics rejoice: sellout US brand Glossier is finally coming to the UK for 2017
Words Joy Montgomery
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll have witnessed the storming success of Glossier. The US beauty brand, which was set up by Into the Gloss’ Emily Weiss in 2014, has become a cult fave with their Instagram friendly packaging, cruelty-free formulas and ‘less is more’ mantra. It came as no surprise, then, that the internet exploded with excitement as the brand announces its plans to launch in the UK later this year.Glossier’s strap-line: “skincare is essential and make-up is a choice” has turned the world’s obsession with heavy Insta-perfect products on its head. The line focusses on helping customers achieve natural glowy skin (phase 1) as a healthy base for make-up (phase 2). The brand describes it’s make-up offering as “a highly edited selection of uncomplicated make-up staples that live with you – not on you”. Sounds good to us.The product line is set to launch in October, followed by a store later in the year. Needless to say, beauty fanatics have already started their wish lists. Not sure where to start? Here’s what to look out for…
The Milky Jelly Cleanser is a light-weight cleanser that magically dissolves even the toughest of make-up. The Cloud Paint blusher, meanwhile, is one of the brand’s newer offerings. Coming in four shades, these gel-cream blushers have won over the public with their easy-to-apply formula and natural cheek-flushing finish. Haloscope is another must-have for getting that Glossier glow. The stick-based highlighter offers a dual-delivery formula in three shimmering shades. The outer ‘halo’ is infused with crystal extracts, while the solid oil core contains vitamin-rich moisturisers. The result? Hydrated, dewy skin which is neither dry nor glittery.
