Ricky Gervais has announced the highly-anticipated first set of official UK dates for his brand-new stand-up show ‘Mortality’, with Brighton one of his stop offs this month. Fresh from his most recent stand-up special ‘Armageddon’ winning a Golden Globe, hitting number one on Netflix and claiming the world record for the highest grossing comedy gig of all time, ‘Mortality’ will once again be filmed for Netflix. “We’re all gonna die. Luke Jerram’s acclaimed art installation, Mars, has landed at Chichester Cathedral, an immersive artwork measuring seven metres in diameter and featuring detailed NASA imagery of the Martian surface. As part of an exciting programme of special events, visitors can enjoy an atmospheric exploration of Mars by twilight at a series of ticketed evening viewings, where the installation will be on show alongside a sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award-winning composer Dan Jones.

Verdi’s timeless classic is one of the most frequently performed operas in the world. A favourite with audiences and critics since its Glyndebourne premiere in 2014, this stylish and sophisticated staging from director Tom Cairns and designer Hildegarde Bechtler emphasises the timeless nature of the story. Adam Hickox will conduct the Glyndebourne Sinfonia and a cast that includes Elisa Verzier as Violetta and Matteo Desole and Sehoon Moon as Alfredo.

Journalist and broadcaster David Dimbleby will take on a new role this autumn – as he guest curates a major art exhibition at Towner Eastbourne alongside his daughter Liza, artist and writer.  It is ten years since Towner became an independent charity and since David Dimbleby was appointed as Towner’s Chair. In September 2024, he will step down from this role. To mark this, together with Liza, he has been invited to curate an ambitious thought-provoking exhibition focused on drawing titled Drawing the Unspeakable, featuring a wide range of artists.

The Winter Fair is all set to return to the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex, on 23-24 November. This festive event is the perfect opportunity for visitors to begin their Christmas preparations while enjoying a fun-filled day with family and friends.
