If, like us, you long to master effortlessly cool French girl style, then you’ve probably had a girl crush on Caroline de Maigret for quite some time now. The model, producer, author and photographer is the epitome of insouciant Parisian cool, so it makes total sense that she’s added another string to her bow with the launch of a lifestyle portal in partnership with fashion house Chanel.
With no fewer than six channels, the site – called CdMdiary – explores multiple aspects of “a lifestyle that incorporates various facets of our times.” Or, in other words, fashion, arts, music, literature and suitably cool places that de Maigret frequents.
We’re most excited about the ‘N°1’ fashion section, featuring essential pieces, womenswear must-haves and tips on how to wear them, ‘Dressing Talks,’ exploring various celebrity wardrobes, and ‘Backstage’, for a glimpse behind the scenes at catwalk shows and major events. The ‘Crushes’ section features de Maigret’s current cultural highlights and ‘Best places’ lists her favorite haunts, while ‘Music Itw’ sees special guests share the songs and music that shaped their lives.
It’s no surprise that de Maigret has been chosen as the narrator to this fashionable online platform. After all, her and Chanel go way back. The model, who flies the flag for chic French style all over the world, first took to the runway for Karl Lagerfeld in 1998. Since then, she has always stayed close to Chanel, attending catwalk shows and becoming a brand spokesperson and ambassador in July this year.
And now, with an insight into how the icon works, plays – and most importantly – dresses, we can add a little ‘je ne sais quoi’ to our own lives right here in Blighty.
